Many thanks for the kind and encouraging words! These are difficult times, but also a fascinating, unique historical moment. It is a very welcome challenge to try to make sense of it all.

I would like to find good information on what is happening with Netherland farmers. Can you point me in a good direction?

Good question. The situation has become a slow, grinding bureaucratic mess, IMO. About a month ago, the Gray Zone published a piece with some good on-the-ground reporting and also some less than wholly grounded speculation. Check it out: https://thegrayzone.com/2022/12/08/dutch-farmers-technocratic-plan/

For my part, I hope to write about the situation again soon.

Insightful article, also that of Cynthia Chung. It is tragic that we are forgetting if not erasing this rich history and culture.

This site is in Dutch, but gives an explanation of why there is a (fabulous) statue of Czar Peter in Rotterdam.

Oh my, thank you for that! Didn't know about that statue, must have walked by it at some point in the past. Apparently Peter was not only Great, he was also very tall, upwards of two meters, and that statue projects something of what must have been a towering presence, both literally and figuratively. Next time I'm there I should take a pic and do a follow-up :)

This was great Colin; so informative..... and the concert in Palmyra...just wow!

Thank you Eileen dear! So glad you watched the Palmyra concert. It's terribly sad to think of us re-kindling a new Cold War, but things move quickly these days; information flows cannot be stopped, despite all the egregious censorship and "cancelling". It's possible things will change for the better sooner rather than later. I doubt we' re looking at another "frozen" conflict lasting decades. We. Shall. See. Hope 2023 is off to a good start for you and yours.
